You are requested to come down personally to Madrid. Our Chief Protocol Officer will be waiting for you at the Arrival hall. You are thus advised to send your Flight Schedule to allow us make all necessary arrangements to ensure prompt payment on your arrival in Madrid. You should endeavour to give a week notice prior to your intended date of arrival to enable us make the necessary arrangments to ensure prompt payment here in Madrid.

However, if it is not convinient for you to come down personally to Madrid please indicate in your response to allow us make alternative arrangements and have the winning remitted into an account which you should specify on the Authority to Remit Form.

We will open a TRANSIT ACCOUNT through which we will remit your winning into your nominated account. Be well informed that the Transit Account is solely to facilitate an easy remittance of your winning.

You will be required to fill out the Authority to remit form, scan and send back to us. We will then enter same into our central computer systems.

You must understand that alot has changed in the international community even in very recent times. We now have strict international monetary laws in the wake of recent terrorist activities. So, to safeguard the interest of all our international winners, we then decided to have a Transit Account set up for each winner.

This is basically to show origin and movement of funds to meet new international regulations. Since different laws and regulations are applicable for lotteries in different countries we do not want to infringe on any of these laws when remitting to any of our international winners. Hence the winning arrives your account as a normal bank remittance.

The Authority to Remit Form which will authorise us to send your winning on your behalf. Be well informed that the information supplied on the Authority to Remit Form will be the only authorising and acceptable instrument for remittance instructions.

The remittance of your funds should not take more than 48 banking hours upon the filling of the Signature Specimen Card.

The opening of this TRANSIT ACCOUNT is basically to creat some form of Authorising Signature over the funds which is necessary for us to be able to effect a remittance. Secondly, it is necessary to enable us pass the funds through any of our affiliate banks and not undermine applicable international monetary laws.

Be further informed that most finance institutions have taken some precautionary measures in the wake of the recent problems faced by the international community.

Call or write me for further details on how to have the Account opened for you.

Endeavour to give me a call or send an email as I am sometimes very busy due to meetings and tight schedule.

Due to the sensitive nature of this transaction we ask that you reconfirm your personal phone and fax numbers where all necessary documents will be communicated to you.

Susan Perez.

I have attached a scan of the new receipt.

I feel I must mention that the L.A. County Housing Authority is hounding me for January's rent now which is overdue and I have to receive my winnings very quickly or else I'm out on the street. Please try to process my claim quickly if possible.

Thank you.

Regards,

Bart

Dear Mrs. Perez,

With all due respect, I am growing very impatient with your apparent lack of regard for my claim.

I realize that I am not the only prize winner in your lottery. However, I have done all that you have requested of me. Please inform me of the status of my claim.

Regards,

Bart

What's the delay here? I want to know for certain that someone went to the Western Union office for a third time.

Dear Mrs. Perez,

I have not heard from you for quite some time. What is going on with my claim? I have wired you € 910 and I haven't heard from you since.

Get back to me as soon as you receive this email with an explanation.

Then an e-mail to the almost-forgotten "Peter Gomez".

Dear Mr. Gomez,

I am contacting you regarding problems with my claim, Batch No. 17/00421/IPD.

Back on December 20th of last year, you instructed me to contact Mrs. Susan Perez regarding my win. Mrs. Perez had instructed me to wire € 910 for the purpose of 'Paper Notarisation' to someone named Sandra Bose Wilson. I have done this.

I have not received any correspondence from Mrs. Perez since.

Now that I have fulfilled my obligation to the NUEVO-ORO LOTTO COMPANY, I would appreciate it if your company would fulfill its obligation to me.

I will await your reply.

Regards

Bartholomew Simpson

Dear Bath Simpson,

The status of your payment was brought to my notice and it was found out that either you made a mistake in your MTCN number of the Western Union or the money was not wired. Please go to the western union office where you made the payment and complain that your payment has not been received.

We are also very worried about this situation as other winners have since collected thier winnings. ALSO TRY AND PLACE THE INFO OF YOUR WESTERN UNION PAYMENT ON THIER WEBSITE, YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT YOUR PAYMENT HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED.

Once again cross check the info on the payment slip and make sure they are correct and re send to the payment officer ASAP.

Regards,

PETER GOMEZ.

I have done what you have suggested. I have explained the problem to the person at the Western Union office. They tell me that the MTCN is valid.

What else can I do?

Dear Mrs. Perez,

I am finding it difficult to believe that your accounts officer even tried to retrieve the money transfers that I have sent.

I have sent two so far. Both remained unclaimed. To be honest, I'm beginning to think that your lottery company is intentionally making it as difficult as possible for me to claim my prize.

In an email you sent before Christmas you made the promise that the remittance of my funds should not take more than 48 banking hours. It appears that this was an empty promise at best.

I am anxiously awaiting your reply.

I wasn't really supposed to say anything about this just yet but I just thought I'd let y'all in on the good news.

Humbly yours,

The Payment Officer requires you to send the control number authenticated by your western union officer ASAP. This should get to her soonest to avoid your claims from being stale.

Still can't use that control number, huh? Well then I guess I'll have to go back to the Western Union office yet again. I can't figure out what's wrong with their system. The control number is valid on one side of the Atlantic Ocean but not the other? Doesn't make sense to me.

I'll get back to you later. I suspect that I'll have to do yet another transfer.

Dear Mr. Gomez,

I have rewired the 910 euros. Please find the new Western Union receipt attached to this email.

Please Mr. Gomez. I implore you to make this work. I'm finding it very difficult to imagine that my claim is being held up by this lousy 910 euro fee. It's ridiculous. The Ferrari dealership is asking for the money for the two cars I purchased from them. Right now I can barely afford to buy a cup of coffee.

Thank you for your concern.

It's likely that they've already found out that the newest MTCN that Bart sent is phony by now but I'd like to hear it from them. This would make FIVE trips to the Western Union office for them. I have no intention of trying for a sixth. Well, maybe, if they ask real nice. I wonder what the record for this is.

I am very surprised that there are some delibrate anomalies in your MTCN. It is either you do not want your fund or i do not know what.If you still need your claims, you still can please contact Mrs Susan Perez our Payment Officer for remmittance of your fund as soon as possible with a genuine MTCN.

What is happening with my claim? You guys have received the 910 euros that I have sent. You promised me that you would process my claim within forty-eight hours after receiving this payment. Needless to say, it has been substantially more than that now.

After sending them to the Western Union office five times, I'd call this one a success. Game over.
