Dear Sir

I have received an email from you which was apparently meant for my sister Denise. Unfortunately she had a minor accident last week. She was making some cow pies when she fell into a large, steaming vat of pie filling. She is recovering just fine now.

I am her brother Denephew Norton. I have read your email and I must say that I am impressed with your selection of animals. Me and Denise believe that several of your animals may be just what we need to augment our own four-legged residents.

I would like to know more about some of your items for sale. Could you tell me about your grass cutters. Our own grass cutters are somewhat more expensive than yours. I would certainly like to know more about yours. Could you also include a picture of a typical grass cutter? I may be interested in purchasing several dozen of these.

I am also interested in your big crocadiles. Gorillas would definately come in handy as well as a few cobras. Some photos of these would be nice too.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Regards,

Dear Sir

Thank you for the pictures. They have been very helpful.

I don't believe that your grasscutters are quite what we're looking for here at Olop Farms. They appear to be quite different from what we had in mind. I have attached a picture of our own fleet of grasscutters. As you can see, ours would probably do the job much faster than yours.

I believe we'll pass on the grasscutters.

However, we are definitely interested in your gorillas. We own/operate a rather large wildlife farm and we employ a sizable workforce utilizing a great number of undocumented immigrants. We are looking towards gradually replacing these illegals sometime before they are due to be paid off at the end of September.

I have some questions. Can these gorillas be trained easily? How much do they eat? Are they potty trained?

What kind of a deal can you cut me on three dozen mature gorillas? (please include the cost of their airfare)

We also have a large pond which we would like to call home to a dozen or so crocadiles. We will need these before the end of September as well as they will play an integral role in our workforce replacement program.

If I wish to order ten or twelve crocadiles, what kind of a deal can we work out.

As you operate an animal farm yourself, you may be interested in some rare wildlife that we have in our care as well but I'll get back to you on this in another email.

I'll await your response. Thanks.

Regards

Dear Norton,

Regards to your previous mail, you indicate grasscutters I never knew you were referring to farm implements. Well sorry I do not sell farm implements; my business is to sell animals.

Concerning the questions you asked, Gorilla is an animal that is very easy to train. Gorillas eat large amounts of vegetation and spend about 30 percent of each day foraging for food. They consume roots, leaves, and stems of herbs, vines, and bark from trees, shrub-sized plants, and bamboo shoots. I know you are very liable to take care of the gorilla because you have a farm animal as well. Yes they are potty trained.

The shipping cost will depend on the destination the animals are going so we could know the total cost. Concerning the purchases of crocodiles we will give you a discount $100 U.S.dollar so the sales will be for $900 U.S.dollars for each one.

I do believe we can also transact animal business together, because I always get others of animals that are not in Africa I do believe you can be helping me getting the animals for my clients you are need. If you have any buyer that is interested in buying animals from Africa please do refer them to our farm here in Nigeria, also I will be referring people looking animals not breed in Africa to you. To this effect you are required to send me your private telephone number for easy communication.

Best Regards

Osas animals.

Since when are lawn mowers considered farm implements?

Dear Sir,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. This is a very busy time of year for us at the farm and as you can imagine, with my sister Denise incapacitated at the moment, I have to do double duty running things here.

Gorillas waste 30 percent of their time looking for food? Wow. Now I'd say that they can use a little help with time management but I'm sure that we can handle that.

I'd certainly love to have about 15 gorillas to start with, probably more a a later date. Also, 10 - 12 crocadiles for our gator pond.

Now, as you have expressed some interest in rare animals native to our area, I'd like to introduce you to two of our favorite species, the swamp donkey and the and the Hairless Ozark Mutt. I have attached photos taken by me personally.

Please note that both of these animals are extemely rare and difficult to find in their native habitat.

The first two pics are of our magnificent swamp donkeys residing at our farm. To show how far some people are willing to go to capture one of these, see the third picture. One of our neighbors had do drive his Chevy to the levee via three fields and two rivers to catch this one. Luckily for him the levee was dry.

The last photo depicts the Hairless Ozark Mutt, also known as the smart-ass. These animals are very intelligent. This particular one is our personal pet. They are extremely rare but we have been breeding them successfully for quite some time now.

I have raised enough issues for this email. I am looking forward to your reply.

Dear Denephew Norton,

I received your email with much anticipation, it has been very hectic here in my farm too, due to the fact that we have to meet huge supply of wildlife animals to our numerous clients around the globe, we have just successfully made our second shipment for the summer and you are aware that it is only this period we can make shipment due to the favorable climatic conditions.

Your request for fifteen gorillas and ten crocodiles is indeed a very large shipment and it will be shipped in two separate batches and since the order involves animals this big we have to freight it through sea. I want you to be more specific on your order so as to know the cost of your total package.

We also have clients who would be interested in some of your rare specie on animal and we will be sending them correspondences on your varieties of animals.

Sorry for the health of your sister and I pray to God that she recovers very soon.

Best regards

Osas farm

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your concern regarding Denise. She is at home now and recovering nicely. She is looking forward to visiting your farm soon. Would this be possible?

I understand that 15 gorillas and 10 crocs is a large shipment. As you would be shipping these by sea, the closest seaport to our farm would be Phoenix. I would like you to quote me a rate F.O B. Phoenix, AZ. We can handle the transportation logistics from Phoenix to our farm.

As I mentioned earlier, we would like to take possession of this shipment before the end of September if possible.

I know that I forgot to include our phone number in my last email. Sorry. It is XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Might as well have him spend some money on overseas phone calls.

[ Sept. 3, 2005 ]

No more e-mails from him. It appears that our animal dealer has figured out how outrageous my e-mails really were. Oh well. If he had half a brain he wouldn't have hung on this long. Game failed.

Update: "George" from Sydney writes:

I notice that on the Osas Animal Farm bait, you say in the comment that he changed his email address because someone reported him for being a 419 scammer.

That was me! lol. I also reported his new one.. So expect another change notification.. He has already notified me of his 3rd account.

I keep reporting him, he gets new accounts and then I verbally abuse him for continually changing his email address! LOL!

I guess our scammer neglected to backup my e-mail address this time around which would better explain why he abandond me. I really didn't think he had half a brain.
