Dear Mrs. Abacha,
I see that you have finally obtained a new email address. I've been
trying to reach you for three weeks now but my emails keep bouncing.
As you know by now, I have wired Global Security's fees to Mr. Mbeki.
I had been planning to travel to Amsterdam last week but I could not
reach you. I don't understand why Mr. Mbeki hasn't contacted you
regarding this matter.
Please let me know when you want me to arrive in Amsterdam to take
possession of the consignment.

Dear Dick Heyd,
Thank you very much for your email dated 6th Sept.2005, and your concern.
Yes,I have created a new mail box because I started having problems with my
old mail box, though I have been in the hospital for some time now on health
grounds. My Doctor observed that my blood was higher than normal and he
advised me to take some rest to enable me normalise my health condition. This
is why you have not heard from me,coupled with the problem that made me to
change my email ID for security reasons since I could not acertain why I was
unable to access my old mail box.I became afraid maybe some people must have
tampered with our discussions on net. Please do not send mails to the old
email ID again.
Mr.Dick, please I'm not back to my normal health condition,I will suggest you
to contact my Son Al Mustapha Abacha so that you can hear from me through
him, because I do not think that I will write you soonest to avoid delay in
accomplishing this transaction as my Doctor warn that I should observe good
rest to enable me normalise my detoriating health condition.
Honestly,I'm have been wondering why the Global Security In Amsterdam has
been finding it difficult to inform me on the development of things for more
than a week now, your mail now have raised a kind of fear in my mind because
I do not know what they are up to about the consignment.
Please let me know how much money you have transferred to Global
Security(Mbeki)last week. This is a very important situation please.
I will advise you to suspend every communication with Global Security for
now until my Son ascertain the true position of things through their
affiliate in London.I think it will be wise and very reasonable for you to
call me Son Al Mustapha so that you can put heads together to arrest the
situation on time. Here is my Son's phone number:+234-1-723XXXX.
Call him as soon as you receive this mail.Always reply my mails to this my
personal mail box,and not to any of the old mail boxes.

Dear Maryam,
You have me very worried. I do not understand why you have not been
kept up to date by Mbeki regarding our progress.
I also don't understand why you would want to me work with Global's
London office if the consignment is in Amsterdam.
I have already sent $7500 to Global Security in Amsterdam. I was to
bring the remaining $22,500 upon my arrival last Friday but I was
concerned when I hadn't heard from you. Frankly, I was losing
confidence in Mr. Mbeki's ability to handle this deal for you. He has
been getting more and more difficult to contact in recent days.
Considering the amount of time and money I have already invested in
this transaction, I hope that you understand why I don't feel at all
comfortable with changing plans so drastically at this point. I wish
to stick to our original plans regarding Amsterdam.
I realize that you haven't been feeling well lately. I hope that you
recover soon as I would still like you to call me.
It's been good hearing from you again. I will await your reply.

Dear Dick Heyd,
Thank you very much for your email.
Infact,I have been worried too why you did not call my son yesterday because
I formed him to expect your call but unfortunately this morning he came to
tell me that you nevr called.I have noted everything concerning your
dealings with Mr.Mbeki,I was surprised that uptil this moment he has not
contacted me,even my Son.
Actually,my son has not received any news from the Global London office
yet,but they promise him today that they will verify from their Amsterdan
office the true position of things before they can get back to us.Please my
dear let us execise a little patient because we are talking about a lot of
money here, besides you have started spending money,so I would want to know
that the consignment is in a safe hand before we can continue.I advise you
not to contact Mr.Mbeki for now because I have no confidence any more in
him, after hearing from their London office tomorrow I will ask them to
appoint a new person who can handle this transaction with you in Holland. You
should know the nature of this transaction and how important the fund means
to me,if anything happens to the fund that means it will sucidal on my side
because it's all I have got.
Please let me have your phone number so that my son can call you since you
are finding it very difficult to call him.
We really have to arrange ourselves before a new step should be taken.

Hello Maryam,
I just got off the telephone from George Mbeki. Apparently he has been
having trouble reaching you as well. I gave him your new email
address. I hope this is okay with you.
Mbeki wants to know when I will be arriving in Amsterdam. I told him
it would be very soon but I wanted to make certain that everything
will be in place for my arrival. However, you keep mentioning London.
With all due respect, this has me very concerned. As I said in my

Dear Dick Heyd,
I got your email with thanks.
Please try to understand my point and stand in this transaction,we are still
carrying out this transaction on the original plans,I'm not changing it to
London as you think. All I have been trying to do is to make sure that my
fund is in a safe hands, that is why I informed you that I have to find out
what is happening from their London office before we can go forward in this
transaction. Our plans to claim the consignment in Amsterdam remains the
same.Or do you think it's not necessary to find out what is happened with
Mr.Mbeki before we can go ahead.I must be very frank with you that I'm no
more comfortable with Mr.Mbeki because from obsevation I noted some pranks
which my spirit never admitted.Certainly Mr.Heyd, you will go to Amsterdam
but we have to ensure that you do not waste your money for nothing and also
I have to secure the fund with Global Security in Amsterdam too,I introduced
you into this transaction and I believe that as my partner we have to listen
to each others suggestion especially at this moment.
Whatever explanation Mr.Mbeki is giving to does not really mean to me
because I'm nolonger interested the way he is handling this transaction
lately, based on this I want Global Security office in London to appoint a
new person who can assist you for the claim when you arrive Amsterdam, this
is the only thing I want their London office to help me do because my Late
husband has a friend with Global Security office in London, but before the
gentle man was transferred to London he used to work with their Amsterdam
office. It's not as if I'm trying to shift from the initial plans. You can now
see my reasons.
Ofcourse your number was in the old mail box, remember I told you that I have
been unable to access my mail from my formal mail box, hence I created this
new one.Based on this fact,I have not been able to get your phone number to
enable my son to call you.
Please if you receive any email from my formal mail box, that means I'm not
the person that sent the mail to you, please be very careful because I do not
trust Mr.Mbeki any longer as far as this transaction is concern.Infact,I
advise you not to call him again until I instruct you on who to contact
later today when I will hear from their London office about my complaint to
them.Be rest assured that Mr.Mbeki must bring out the sum he collected from
you because you are not going to pay such again, all you have to arrange with
you is the balance of the payment when you are going to Amsterdam. From my
personal observation I noted that Mr.Mbeki is up to something.Like I told
you before if anything should happen to the fund in Amsterdam, that means I
do not see any reason of still staying alive.
In order to protect this transaction we have to have a PASSCODE which will
enable you identify any mail from me.The passcode we are going to use from
now on is "SAVIOUR".It will stand as subject of all my messages to you,as
well as all your messages to me,with this measure we can guide against any
form of interferance or intrution. What do you think?

Mrs.Maryam Abacha.

Dear Maryam,
I hope you are feeling better today.
I'm happy to note that you do not wish to change the plans that Mr.
Mbeki and I have worked so hard to formulate.
The only issue that we have not been able to agree upon was our
meeting place. Mr. Mbeki insisted that he meet me at Schiphol Airport.
I do NOT want this to happen. I wish to get myself established in
Amsterdam prior to meeting with anyone. As I have explained to both
Mr. Mbeki and yourself, I am very nervous at the thought of carrying
that much cash around and I wish to designate the meeting place, not
anyone else. This was the main reason that I hadn't already flown to
Amsterdam.
Please advise my new contact from Global that this is the way I will
want to do things. Hopefully he'll be easier to deal with than Mbeki
on this issue.
Your son left a message on my answering machine this morning.
Unfortunately I was at my office and unable to take his call. I'll
call him back at my convenience.
I hope to hear back from you soon regarding Global's new contact.

I'm also glad that you have contacted Mr.Wilson,I believe and trust in your
capability of handling this transaction to a conclusion. That reminds me,you
are in London but when I suggested you to go to London you were very
indifferent why???,maybe you have a special arrangement with Mr.Mbeki.
That's bye the way, let's hope that we are going to conclude this transaction
before the end of next week now that everything is resolved.I learnt that
Mr.Mbeki told the Global Security that my late husband deposited just $20m
with them, has he ever told you that? if yes,I want to know the exact amount
I personally informed you that was deposited by my late husband in my very
first proposal to you??? This is a very serious issue because that was what
they told me in London,so I want to know what exactly is going on between
you and Mr.Mbeki.
I must confess to you here that I'm not comfortable with your sudden visit
to London after you argued that you will never want to go to London to claim
the consignment.

Dear Maryam,
I will address your questions and I have some concerns of my own.
First, I said that I was in the UK. I did not say that I am in London.
Actually I am presently in Manchester, not London.
As I explained previously, you, Mbeki and I had confirmed that I was
to complete the transaction in Amsterdam. This, of course is because
the consignment is in Amsterdam. Why would I take possession of the
consignment in London if it is in Amsterdam. With all due respect,
Maryam, it made no sense to me. Does it make sense to you?
A change of plan like that would make me very nervous.
Do you know Mr. Edmond Wilson? He returned my email. He claims to be
with Premium Securities & Finance. Not Global Securities. What's going
on here?
Also, he claims that the fees due are 22,500 euros. It's my firm
understanding that the fees due total 22,500 dollars, not euros. I'm
sure that this is an honest mistake. I'll make certain that he is
clear about this.
I hope you can clarify this soon. Thanks.

Dear Dick Heyd,
Thank you very much for your email. Please maintain our subject
passcode(SAVIUOR).
Infact,I'm very happy that you sounded very precise in your mail because I
have been very worried concerning the problems Mr.Mbeki has tried to put
lately about this transaction.
Maybe I misunderstood you about your trip to UK,besides, you do not have to
blame me much because I'm just like a wounded lion trying to get back what
belongs to me,so every moves arround me about the consignment has to me
clearly expressed to me.Your explanations has already put things in the
right frame of mind on my side.
Mr.Heyd,I trust you in this transaction that is why I have been scared,I
strongly believe that I can count on you after the claim because you are the
only eyes with which I can see now. Please do not betray me ok.Take things
easy as I have really made a good and strong arrangement for the claim as
soon as you are in Amsterdam. Please keep away everything about this new
arrangement from Mr.Mbeki as you have seen what he has caused us now,and I
sincerely believe that you don't contact him anymore,or....................?
You have not answer my question concerning the amount in the consignment
which my late husband deposited in Amsterdam because from every indications
it appears that Mr.Mbeki had made some moves to break into the consignment,I
want to know if you are aware of it.
Based on this finding from their London office they informed me that they
are going to move the consignment away from their Amsterdam's office to a
sister company,Premium Securities & Finance which is in Amsterdam too to
ensure that nothing happens to the consignment, though they assured me that
everything is under control as they have taken this measure to safeguard the
consignment and to see to a successful conclusion of the claim when you
arrive Amsterdam.
Mr.Heyd,I must tell you that I'm very much relaxed with the way the London
office of Global Securities handled the matter, they are fair from my own
point of view so that there will be no pranks to play from anybody
again. This is why they appointed Mr.Wilson to take incharge of the whole
process right away at their sister's company Premium Securities & Finance.
As you explained in your mail I understood that you and I has a lot in
common in this transaction than Mr.Mbeki or even the entire Global
securities. Our ultimate goal should be on the surest way to claim the
consignment from either Global securities or from their sister's company
Premium Securities & Finance, which ever way is ok provided the consignment
will be handed over to you anytime you arrive to Amsterdam for the
claim.Honestly,I would not want to experience a situation whereby when you
get to Amsterdam you will start finding things difficult,no this is what I
really would not want you to go through.I thank ALMIGHTY GOD that he
revealed Mr.Mbeki and his plans to us,this has given us the strong courage
and eyes opener in this transaction.
The balance you have to give them when you arrive Amsterdam is
$22,500.00,NOT Euros. We do not owe them nothing than the $22,500.00,please
take note of that very well.
Try as much as you can to formalise with Mr.Wilson this week so that you
will be in Amsterdam withing the time you mentioned.
Always get back to me if you sense any problem,so that we can discuss about
it first before getting back to them.

Hi Maryam,
How are you feeling today?
You have addressed all of my concerns for the time being. Thanks. I
feel much better now. I already have more confidence in Mr. Wilson
than I ever did in George Mbeki. Mbeki and I have not spoken in
several days now. He has not tried to contact me since last week.
My biggest concern now is carrying that amount of cash in Amsterdam.
I'm aware that this is a dangerous thing to do but I will address this
concern with Mr. Wilson prior to my arrival.
Mr. Mbeki may be an asshole but I don't believe that he is a thief. He
still maintained that there is $30 million in the boxes but I will
check the locks on the boxes to ensure that they have not been
tampered with upon my arrival at Premium Securities.
Do not concern yourself, Maryam. I will ensure that everything is
taken care of and I will represent you well in Amsterdam. Will you be

Take care for now. Get some rest.

Apparently, Mrs. Abacha no longer trusts Mr. Mbeki as she suspects

Thank you for all your efforts so far and God bless.

Dear Maryam,
How are you?
I am just now preparing to fly back to the US right now. I will arrive
there tomorrow.
I believe that the relationship between Mr. Wilson and I is proceeding
smoothly. I anticipate very few if any problems. Thanks for your
concern.
I am saddened to read that you will not be in Amsterdam during my
visit. Not to worry however. I will look after the consignment as
originally planned until your son is able to take possession of it.
I have to rush to the airport now. Take care. I'll notify you when I get home.
Warm regards,

Dear Mr. Wilson,
How are you?
I would like to meet with you in Amsterdam by Saturday afternoon
(24th). I will be arriving in Amsterdam no later than Friday. This
will give me time to prepare for our meeting.
Taking a large sum of money from the US is a bit tricky. Therefore I
will be working with an assistant. Between the two of us, we will be
able to take enough money out of the country without running into
legal difficulties at the airport. Even then, I will still have to
raise a small amount upon our arrival in Amsterdam. However, this will
only require a few hours at most. I will have the entire amount of
$22,500 converted to cash by Saturday afternoon.
I recently told Mrs. Abacha that I had not heard from Mr. Mbeki. I did
not want to upset her. Truth is, Mr. Mbeki has been harassing me
considerably and I have reason to believe that he will attempt to
intercept me in Amsterdam. Therefore it appears like I'll have to take
some security precautions while I'm in Amsterdam.
I believe it is best if no one meets me at the airport or my hotel
room. I want to make certain that I do not meet up with Mbeki or his
secretary. I will let you know exactly where and when I wish to meet
with your protocol officer but I want it to be in a place that I can
check out thoroughly before we meet. I hope I have your understanding
regarding this matter.
I will get back to you on this soon.
Regards,

Dear Dick Heyd,
Is everything alright with you? Why have you decided not to write me for
couple of days now, besides I'm pretty sure that you arrived your base
safely.
Well,I have received two correspondences with Mr.Wilson.I really understood
your points in those mails but Mr.Wilson has clearly explained to me that
your conditions does not conform with their operational system,he prefer you
to follow their own mode of operation instead of bringing in a kind of
arrangement which is un-acceptabel by the entire body of his Company.
Mr.Wilson further stressed that due to the volume of money people from
different parts of the world deposits with their Company,it will be
non-sense to get themselves exposed to an extent that they might be feeling
un-safe after your claim,he also said that in as much as they have to
protect all their customers from all over the world, their customers should
also see/consider their services to them as such they could not compromised
in any way.He asked me to inform you that you should try to reason with them
and follow their simple mode of operation which they have been using ever
since the Company was established.
Now Mr.Heyd,I must inform you at this point that having read all the
arrangement by which you wish to operate upon your arrival to Amsterdam,I
still suggest that you should please consider the mode of operation which
Mr.Wilson has advised you to follow so that we can conclude this transaction
once and for all, because if you fail to conclude this arrangement this time
I guess we have to stop here for now.
I'm not happy to still hear from you that you are still in close
communication with Mr.Mbeki over my consignment, this truely expressed your
statement which you said that "Mr.Mbeki could be an asshole but he is not a
thief",at this point I must say that you have a different thing entirely
with Mr.Mbeki and my consignment at the back of your mind and until this
point is cleared to me there will be no business between us.
How could you have said this----"Truth is, Mr. Mbeki has been harassing
me considerably and I have reason to believe that he will attempt to
intercept me in Amsterdam".
That's to say that your arrangement with Mr.Mbeki is more stronger than the
entire Security Company.
On this note I think I will inform their London office about this
development and they have to give me a strong assurance before we can go on
with the claim. This is my stand for now.
Mrs.Maryam Abacha.

Dear Sir,
This is to inform you that our standard protocol and policy is to pick our clients from the airport or hotel to our office. We understand your fear and worries with Mr. Mbeki however, it is our duty to also protect our client from any evil during their visit in The Netherlands.
Furthermore, if you do not feel comfortable bring the funds in cash, we will advise you to transfer the charges involved before proceeding to the Netherlands. We urge you to follow our instruction to enable you receive your consignment.
Thanks for your cooperation,

Dear Mrs. Abacha,
With all due respect, you have once again misconstrued something I have written.
As you have already read my email to Mr. Wilson, you can plainly see
that I told him that George Mbeki was "harassing" me. I don't
understand how you have interpreted that into being "still in close
communication with Mr.Mbeki."
I have not written anything to Mbeki for quite some time. He continues
to email me. I have not informed you of this because I did not want
you to be upset. I am concerned with your health. I notice that Wilson
obviously does not share that concern considering that he passed my
email on to you. You are obviously upset. That tells me a lot about
Mr. Wilson.
Getting to my meeting in Amsterdam, If Mr. Wilson does not wish to
meet me under my terms, that's fine, but he'll have to be willing to
take a personal check from me. If he wants cash, then my terms apply.
I will email him now to make arrangements.
Nice to hear from you again. I hope you are well soon.
Regards,

Dear Mr. Wilson,
You may have your standard protocol but there is nothing about this
transaction that is standard for me.
It is my standard protocol and policy to pay large amounts of money
such as this by personal check. If you are prepared to take a personal
check from me, I will permit you to pick me up at the airport, my
hotel, or even my home in Florida.
However, it's my understanding that you want cash. If so, then I will
not allow anyone to approach me until I know that it is safe to do so.
I will be taking all of the risks if I am carrying cash. I will be
making all of the final decisions regarding our meeting.
I had told Mbeki this and now I will tell you: I will not be paying
any more money in advance of me seeing the consignment. If this is
what you mean by "transfer the charges involved before proceeding to
the Netherlands", then you can forget it. I have transferred $7500 in
advance already and then I lost contact with Mrs. Abacha for almost
three weeks after that.
Regarding your sad decision to pass my last email onto Mrs. Abacha: I
had already told you that I did not want Mrs. Abacha to know that
George Mbeki had been harassing me because this would upset her. You
have decided to pass that information on to her despite the effect on
her ill health.
Let me say your stunt did indeed upset her. It has upset me as well.
In fact, I have to wonder if you are indeed keeping this entire matter
confidential as has been requested by Mrs. Abacha. Rest assured, I
will be more careful of what I tell you in the future.
I'll await your reply.

Hello Mr. Wilson,
I believe I am prepared for our meeting in Amsterdam.
While I understand your desire to "protect our client from any evil
during their visit in The Netherlands" it is my understanding that she
won't be meeting with us on Saturday.
I have booked a hotel very close to the Royal Palace. I have stayed at
this hotel previously and I am familiar with it.
I would like to meet your protocol officer near the Royal Palace at
3:00 PM on Saturday. Please, either send me a photograph of your
protocol officer or give me a description of him including the
clothing that he will be wearing. I do not wish to make any mistakes.
I will be carrying the remainder of your fees with me. Once I meet
your protocol officer and verified that he is the right person, I will
accompany him to your offices.
I trust this will be acceptable to you.
Regards,

Dear Dick Heyd,
Thank you for your mail.
I really was very upset with the information which I read from the mail you
sent to Wilson, but after reading from you and your clear explanation I must
tell you that I now understood your line of action.
All the same I would want you to work with Mr.Wilson as he did that based on
my plea to him to assist you for the claim when you arrive Amsterdam,I did
not think he meant any evil by telling me about your arguement.Anyway,I know
that you are capable of settling things out amicabley with Mr.Wilson at this
time because you are more business like in nature than they.
I must also thank you very much for your concern about my health.
Are you still flying to Amsterdam on Friday?
Give me details.

Dear Maryam,
I'm so glad that we got our little misunderstanding out of the way.
And yes, I am concerned about your health. How have you been feeling?
I have just had a very fruitful telephone conversation with Edmond
Wilson concerning my meeting with him on Saturday. We have come to a
compromise regarding the details. He is still aware of my safety
concerns and I am not entirely comfortable with the way he wants to
pick me up but I guess it will have to do.
Frankly, Maryam, I was beginning to think that this meeting would not
take place at all. Thankfully, Mr. Wilson has assured me that he is
willing to work with me concerning some of my biggest fears.
I will now try to book a flight. Hopefully it's not too late.
Take care for now.
