This bait is not really your standard run-of-the-mill bait. It is actually a spin-off from another game (see The Dr. Efedi Letters) in which I had introduced to the game a phony character by the name of Barrister Williams Sankoh as a rival scammer, hoping to elicit a certain reaction from my mugu. What transpired next however was totally unexpected. The Barrister Williams character took on a life of its own, completely independent from its parent game, and, due to its growing complexity, eventually had to be lifted out and run in its own identity.
In this game the traditional roles are completely reversed. The scammer, playing a potential victim, actually tries to bait ME, a baiter playing a scammer.
Conventions within the dialog:
E-mails from the unknown scammer are in black.
E-mails from me (the phony Barrister Williams Sankoh) are in italicized blue.
Red X's represent characters that have been changed to protect personal info.
Comments from me are in bold black.
The adventure unfolds with the real scammer's initial unsolicited e-mail.

I am glad that you sympathise with the plight of my
client. I am giving you the full assurance that this
transaction if perfectly legal, you will confirm the
existence of the funds from the security company where
it is deposited presently.
First of all I want to assure you that as an attorney,
I know the implications of falling short of the law,

confines of the laws of both countries.
This fund in question as I indicated in my first mail
to you, is presently with a security company in the
netherlands. During the government in which my client
served under, the country was under arms sanctions
from the EU and the UN.
Being a military govenment, there was always the need
for arms and ammunitions, and some government and
businessmen were willing to do business with my
country irrespective of the sanctions.
In order to carry out these transactions without
incurring the wrath of the EU and UN, finance and
security companies were created to act as fronts,
funds were transferred out of the country under the
guise of procuring agricultural machineries.
This USD33.6M was deposited with the Central Bank Of
Nigeria CBN, my client is in possession of the deposit
certificate and the fund transfer documents.
All the documents along with the contract will be put
at your disposal. As we proceed along more
information will be put at your disposal. I want you
to give me contact i.e name, address, telephone/fax
numbers. With these information, I will draw up a
power of authority in your favour, this power of
authority will give you full authorisation to contact
the security company and secure release of the funds.
My client is favourably disposed towards an offer of
10% of the total fund tax-free. provision will be made
to cover the tax you will pay on your share, because
it will reflect as an income recieved in the contract
I will draw up. I await to hear from you.

Secondly I need to know wheather or not you have the
financial capability to be able to handle the small
service charges that may be required of you by the
security company. These small service charges will
certainly not exceed maybe 10,000 Euros but you must
me able to assure me that you can handle at least this
amount without any financial burden on yourself.
Comming to your question -are you married- . I find
this question odd from someone who does not even know
me unless you may have some desires for me. Now this
is quite common among my woman contacts .Be adviced
however that I do not play with my clients or there
associates in this fashion so try ro refrain from
thinking about me in this way until at least we
realise the successfull conclusion of our business.
