Greetings Mrs. Joyce Eze,

Thank you very much for your most interesting email, however I am afraid that I will be unable to help you at this time. Our firm is presently involved with our most ambitious contract to date and I cannot give any time to anything other than finding new actors for the upcoming television advertisements which we will be producing for our largest client.

Since it was you that contacted me, you probably already know me but in case you don't, my name is Mike Rotch and I am a senior partner of Glaf Arts, an advertising agency in New York. We have clients who advertise in all markets, virtually everywhere in the world. We offer acting jobs to aid up and coming new television actors who may not otherwise have the opportunity means break into the entertainment industry.

I am sorry but I am unable to enter into your business proposition at this time, however if you have any contacts or clients in your part of the world who you think may benefit from our financial help then I would be very interested to be put in touch with them. We are especially keen on acquiring new actors who can demonstrate unique acting abilities and we will be happy to offer a very generous scholarship package to young actors with demonstrably good acting potential who may benefit from our help. Our scholarship payments range from between $15,000 and $60,000 depending on the potential of the actor.

If you know of someone who may have some on-camera talent and who could benefit from our financial help and who would also be prepared to play roles in television advertisements for us then please do let me know.

Again I am sorry that I am unable to help with your proposition at this time but I wish you luck in finding someone to help you.

Sincerely,

--

Nice to hear from you. I'm happy that you have taken an interest in my situation. Let me outline our problem.

One of our larger clients, Uranus Foods LLC, has asked us to write and produce approximately 150 television advertisements to be aired all over the world including about a dozen in Africa.

We presently require approximately 10 to 20 actors from West Africa and 6 to 5 from South Africa. We already have enough actors from Senegal, Gambia, Liberia and Cote d'Ivoire but we still require three men and three women from either Ghana or Nigeria.

If you know of anyone in either of these countries that may be interested in auditioning via demo videos, I would really appreciate it if you get them to contact me. We are having difficulty locating actors in these countries.

Each role pays $3500 per advertisement. We will pay any traveling expenses to New York to anyone who is selected to star in these advertisements. We also pay any reasonable expenses incurred during their stay in New York such as food and lodging.

While we are not necessarily looking for professional actors, candidates should be comfortable in front of the camera and have at least a small amount of acting ability. They must also be able to perform from a written script and be reasonably attractive.

If you are still interested in helping me, please let me know and I'll be happy to give you more details. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Pitas,

I just wanted to confirm that I have your correct email address and to give you some idea of what we are looking for.

One of our larger clients, Uranus Foods LLC, has asked us to write and produce approximately 150 television advertisements to promote their newest product, a chocolate candy bar. These advertisements are to be aired all over the world including twelve in Africa.

We are presently looking for talented men and women from either Ghana or Nigeria or both. We are inviting candidates for these roles to submit demo videos in electronic form from which we will choose the best three men and three women to come to New York to shoot these advertisements.

Each role pays $3500 per advertisement. We will pay all traveling expenses to New York to anyone who is selected to star in these advertisements. We also pay any related expenses incurred during their stay in New York such as food and lodging.

We are also prepared to pay you a finder's fee of $500 for each actor that is ultimately chosen to come to New York.

We are not looking for professional actors but candidates should be comfortable in front of the camera and have some acting ability. They must also be able to perform from a written script.

If all is understood and you wish to go forward with this, let me know and I will give you more details.

Hope you are well today.

Do you think that the finder's fee is small? It's not a figure which was set by me but if you believe it to be a bit short, I invite you to suggest a fee which would be more to your satisfaction.

You are correct in assuming that we do not pay anything for actors who are not selected to come to New York, just as an employer does not pay for people who simply apply for a job at their firm.

If you have any more questions, please let me know.

As you know we are not looking for acting jobs or looking for employment from you, but assisting you in Sourcing for actors, we commit our resource in getting the actors, getting their Demo prepared and sent to you for inspection and all this involve our money ,resources and time and when refused because of big head…..we lose?.

There must be an incentives to work, there must either be a compensation for lose or a mobilization that makes work kicking, I am not applying for work but sourcing and I hope you will understand me.

Dear Mr. Pitas,

Hope you are well today.

I'm satisfied that everything is understood between us except that I must stress that we only wish to have amateur actors. We are not looking for stars. In fact, we would rather not hire anyone who is well known in the entertainment industry. Our scholarship program is for amateur actors who would otherwise not have the opportunity or means to break into the industry.

Just so we are clear, at least some of the actors that we choose will also have the opportunity to qualify for acting training which will be paid for through our scholarship fund. This will surely lead to other, higher-paying jobs in the entertainment industry for the most fortunate ones.

So as you can see, the making of the television advertisements will only be a small first step towards a very rewarding career for some of the actors.

As we are hiring actors to read from a script, I have attached a handful of scripts which are rough drafts of some of the actual advertisements which will be produced. We will give preference to demo videos which include the actors actually acting out the attached scripts.

Please note that these demo videos need not be professionally produced. We do not expect anyone to purchase studio time to make these demos. An amateur videographer with a digital video camera and the means to convert the results into electronic form will surely suffice. All we ask is that the videos are of reasonable quality and that they include a sound track.

Also, I'm not certain whether or not I mentioned this but all demo videos must be submitted in electronic form. This means MPG, WMV, or AVI files.

I hope I have clarified some of the details.

Subject: This pic makes the soul happy

Good Day Mr Mike,

Thanks for the explanations and hope its well with you.

I have at this moment 2 ladies and One man, who have agreed to come to USA, they have accepted your terms and two of them has taking part in previous local Advertisement here in Ghana and its a pictorial Advert not electronic and I can send their act( photographic) to you. But the point I demand to know is, for my effort in assisting you in getting this actors and If they are not selected what will i get as a compensation? Or what will I be paid for in a failed effort?

In Africa, there nothing free, getting a local photographer to video your acts is money and creating a suitable sound is the work of a professional, they are not free.

The must be an agreement between me and you for the payment of a Mobilization fee to enable me work in sourcing actors for you not working and awaiting result. I can provide you the actors that will suits your taste and that are also longing for a break through in acting career.

If you agree to mobilize me then send me details of the type of an actor you will need, that is their height, sizes and possibly color and when you need them to be in America, if selected.

Once I get your confirmation to mobilize me, you will get the first Demo by Sunday the 8th October (the first 2 acts) from me .I enclose my picture and two girls( One Nigerian and the other Ghanaian) that are amateur actors and have done advert before in Ghana and agreed to your concession, this will prove I am ready for business and if you like I can talk with you through the Webcam.

I await your response and wish you a good day and stay blessed.

Dear Mr. Pitas,

The photos you sent indicate that you have a handle on the type of people we are looking for. This is absolutely wonderful. However, we must see how they perform on camera with the scripts provided before we can make any judgements. Do you know these women personally?

We would like to begin shooting the ads during the second week of November. This means that we would like to have everyone in New York by Friday, November 3 to familiarize them with the sets and the entire filming process.

We will likely require the actors to film more than one advertisement. I trust this won't be a problem.

Also, I would like to know if they will be available to possibly do other projects as well during their stay in New York, possibly to appear as extras in TV and movie shoots. These other projects would be primarily non-speaking roles.

As I mentioned before, we do not pay for failed efforts. If we did that we would end up with thousands of useless demo videos. We would much rather have a small selection of quality demos from people who believe in their work enough to make the initial investment.

We feel that we are going out on a limb as it is by advancing the airfare to successful candidates. In reality, there would be nothing stopping an actor from simply pocketing the money and not showing up in New York at all. It is our opinion that we are taking enough of a financial risk as it is.

With that said, simply based on the photos you sent, I would say that all three candidates have a good to excellent chance of being selected if their acting is as good as their appearance.

Sincerely,

I told you earlier that I can really serve your request fine and provide more services for you. Interestingly, I can provide an array of Girls/men ranging from18-30years with heights from 1.54m to 1.9m that are longing to be actors and actresses. The girls you saw are known personally to me and they are undergraduates’ students of universities here, but as said earlier you have to mobilize me some money to perform.

I am the owner/Chairman of SE’AMI Ltd, Based in Royalty Castle Road, Kokomlemle, near Joy F.M Radio ,Accra .I am the person in the Picture I sent to you along with the girls picture earlier, I want to do business with you and you will be happy having me here to assist you. But we have problems, the problems is in respect to the American Visa that will enable us come to America.

It’s a know formality in the American Embassy that before Visa can be given to anybody here, its takes three (3)months, but maybe if you can assist in talking to the Embassy staff that you are providing us a temporal employment and you will handle all the financial involvements then they might consider given us sooner than expected.

If this Visa( its fees) and ticket barrier can be overcome then, I will provide you the people you want. Once we settle our terms then you will have to prepared an agreement and send to me and the supposed actors and actress to sign.

Thanking for your time, I wish you a good nice weekend.

Dear Mr. Pitas,

The travel visas and its related fees will not be a problem. We will look after those issues. Letters of intent to employ will be issued where required and all fees will be paid directly by us. In most cases, we will be able to secure visas within 3 working days.

You may submit as many demo videos as you wish but we will require the names, ages, locations and photos of anyone who wishes to participate and all participants are required to be at least 18 years old. Both men and women will be required for this project.

Also keep in mind that we have other projects on the go as well as this one and anyone with talent who is not selected for this job may be asked to join us on another project.

I hope I have addressed your concerns.

Please remember however that the actors must perform the material that is in the scripts I sent to you. While the actors may include other material as well, you must direct them to perform the material in the scripts. We cannot consider anyone who does not perform any of the material in the scripts.

Please be sure to save the receipt for the cost of the professional videography. If the video demos are done to our satisfaction, we will be happy to reimburse you for this cost. However, I will reiterate that the actors MUST perform at least some of the material in the scripts to be considered for the job. Their performance of the actual advertisement scripts by the actors is what we will be looking at most closely.

Dear Mr. Pitas,

I'm sorry to hear that you were sick and happy to know that you're fine now.

Concerning request for $1,000. It is against our company's policy to advance monies except in extreme circumstances. The fact that we are willing to advance airfare and expense money prior to the filming of the ads shows that we are willing to take a certain amount of risk. We do expect the people we deal with to share some of the risk. I'm sorry. I have discussed this with the other partners and they all give a thumbs down to this suggestion.

If these actors are as good as you say they are, rest assured, you will make your investment back many times over. Even if our client rejects the advertisements that we make with the people you provide, you and all of the actors will still get paid. This is the risk we are already taking. This is what makes Glaf Arts a business that believes in what it's doing. Since we have no control over what you do, we cannot assess the risk involved. Therefore, we cannot blindly advance any monies to you until we can assure ourselves that you actually have some people capable of acting in these ads.

Mr. Pitas. You mention that you can submit more than 20 video demos. If all those actors are excellent, that would be fine. However, since your resources seem to be stretched, I would suggest that you pick the best five or six actors you can find and invest the money on a good quality demo or two for each of them. By all means, include your cousin if you truly believe that she is capable of this job.

Speaking of your cousin, one of our partners, Pete Moss, will be doing some billboard and magazine ads for a major women's underwear manufacturer and he took notice of your cousin in one of the video clips that you sent. If she is one of the actors invited to come to New York, he wants to know if she might be interested in posing for a few still photos during her visit to display our client's garments. Shooting these photos would only take a few hours and would pay about $1,700.

Sir. Please consider my suggestion. Our firm would never invest in something we did not believe in and neither should you. As I said, pick the best and most attractive actors you have and invest in those ones, the ones you believe in the most. Discard the rest. Do not waste your resources on the ones that are not as good as the best ones.

Sincerely,

--

Mr Mike,

Thanks for the response,if you dont assist your sourcers, how can I trust your decision, I am in problems and need assistance and you say NO. I am not in advertisment business and I will take greater burden to shoot demos for you and geting nothing if NOT accepted? and the actors coming to America will be addictional burden me for just $500 compensation.

The sun in Ghana is so hot and nothing is done for Nothing here, and I want you to know, we spend Dollar as if you are in USA and living here is very expensive,I am not a job seeker neither longing to come to America.

So let professional do your job and get paid. Kindly. Please look elsewhere and I wish you luck Have a nice week end.

Dear Sir,

Hope you are well today.

You must remember that we did not ask you to have the demos shot professionally. This was your idea. I actually suggested that you simply use a digital video camera. I still do.

I recommend that you get close to your subjects with your digital camera to enable the microphone to pick up the actors' voices. Shoot the demos in a small, quiet room.

Let me know what you intend to do.

Regards,

Looks like our scammer may have given up on Mike Rotch. I'll try him one more time with an e-mail from Mike's partner, Pete Moss.

Greetings to you Mr. Pitas

My name is Pete Moss of Glaf Arts.

I had seen a video last week which you sent to my associate, Mike Rotch featuring a woman whom you had subsequently identified as your cousin.

I had been wondering if she would be interested in doing a small bit of modeling for us. I would have contacted her directly but Mike doesn't seem to have her contact information.

I would appreciate it if you could enlighten me on her thoughts on this.

Thank you.

Good day Mr Pete

Thanks for the message,I have informed my cousin of your choice and she is happy for your decision and to me ,it seem she has being choosen for the modeling and I would want to know my commision and benefit of such choice and how it will be paid.

I did tell Mr Mike last week that I am interested in doing job for you but I have financial and material problems and would need an advance payment for me to send you as many demo as possible but he said its not part of their company policy.

Now that you have chosen her,how about send me the money, for us to work effectively? I have done my partial part and do yours to seee your serious in fulfilling an agreement and I will surprise you how hard working I am.

For If I can send an unprepared 5 amatuer Demo for your appraisal,DONT think I can do more than you expects.Friends are not made in heaven but on Earth by Communication or by looking each other.....so the ball is in your Court.

I await your decision,have a good day.

Greetings Mr. Pitas

I was wondering if your cousin would be receptive to the idea of possibly sending more photos of herself so that I can decide whether or not she may be suitable for this modeling job. Specifically, Mr. Pitas, we would like to see whether or not she has a nice rack.

The modeling job is for a women's undergarment manufacturer and we would like to see if her rack would be suitable for displaying our client's brassieres.

I have attached some images to give you an idea of what we are looking for.

While the standard model brokerage fee here in New York is about 15% of the gross pay to the model, I'm certain the we could work something out if this is not enough for you.

Please note that I work independently of Mr. Rotch and that this modeling job will be separate from any other agreements in which you may enter with Mr. Rotch.

Thank you.

Good day to you Mr. Pitas

I would be more than happy to give you a settlement but perhaps I could do even better than that. I believe that I could arrange to give you an attitude adjustment. In fact, if you could set me up with a meeting with your cousin and allow me to spend an evening with her, I would be more than happy to deliver the aforementioned adjustment to you personally.

Mr. Pitas. I would truly like to meet with you to conclude this. How much of an adjustment would you require for the evening with your cousin and when would be a good time for both of you?

Thank you.

Good day Mr. Pete,

Thanks for your message and your advice, but your advice is totally abnormal and out of courtesy, Meet me and my cousin in person? On the net through Webcam or face to face? Could you explain better.

It’s absolutely funny to tell a man ( I mean a Man with balls ) you can give him an attitude adjustment for not buying your idea. Not accepting your desire has it becomes a sin requiring an adjustment?

Maybe you could explain your language better to me if you really want me to meet you personally. Differing in language conception shouldn’t give out burst.

You give your Tel /nos, I will call you and my cousin can talk to you, if you want a Webcam talking I am free, on attitude adjustment, I don’t think Americans are better than the Englishman.

Be happy and have a good day, as the world is for the happy people.

Mr. Pitas

Hello Mr. Pitas

What man with balls? You? If you have balls, maybe you should trade them in for brains. They would be better suited for the scamming you are attempting.

Mr. Rotch has already informed you that we do not pay in advance except where noted. It now appears that you are trying to scam our firm. You are living proof that our company's policy is a good one.

Good day my friend.

Mr. Pitas

I will contact you anytime I wish to do so.

You have soiled your own name. You even called me Mr. Mike. Do you not even know who you are speaking to? My sig is at the bottom of every email I send. If you want my opinion, I believe you are going insane.

Please give me the contact of your cousin as you are obviously incapable of speaking in her best interests. I'm certain that she would really enjoy meeting with me.

Thank you.
