I can probably pick up a couple of laptops before I go back to London tomorrow. Will there be any problem getting these items into your country? I don't need any hassles at customs.

I don't see why your firm doesn't take cheques. I wouldn't think that your customs people will take kindly to me bringing in that much cash.

I can send you a photograph of myself but my passport is at home. I am still at my sister's house in Liverpool.

I have also attached a scan of the printout of my flight schedule.

I think that it is also a good idea if you send me a photo of yourself so that I can recognise you at the airport when I arrive.

Also, can you book a hotel room for me, at least for the first night of my stay as it will be evening when I arrive. I'd prefer the Novotel or the Sofitel if you have them in Abidjan. I don't want to stay in anything less.

This prompts no fewer than a dozen attempts to get hold of Ann on the phone five resulting in voice mails. While most of them aren't worth posting, in this one, he suggests that he might wish to take Ann as his wife.

Today's the big day for our scammers. I was a bit too busy in real life (sleeping) to have Ann call Dr. Hassan before she departed Heathrow so Ann gives him a call from Paris as he wanted her to. I used some background sound to simulate an airport terminal but I think it may have made it difficult for him to understand what Ann was saying.

Game over. Ann is dead. Of course, getting robbed and murdered by corrupt customs officials is no excuse for not showing up with the cash.
