Dear Dr. Salad,
All right then. We'll plan on a date in early March. Since I would
like to miss as little time as possible from work to avoid arousing
any suspicions, how about March 5th, again, a Saturday?
Also, I would like to know the size and weight of the consignment.
Mrs. Murray had led me to believe that there was only one box but you
seem to indicate that there are at least two boxes. Could you please
clarify my confusion and give me the dimensions and weight of the
consignment?
I shall await your reply.

Dear Wanda Willing,
I have received your email and the date will be okay since is between 5
and 10 of next month.Mrs.Murray is right as we have only one trunk box
deposited by her. Please do not be confused as we are releasing a trunk
box only to you.
The box is square in share and it weight is in the documents of deposit
which is presently with the high court.I beleive that you will be here
soon and handle the transaction yourself.
I will give you every assistance you need to ensure that this
transaction is completed successfully. Please make sure you send me your
travelling arrangements including the flight schedule.
Waiting to hear from you.

Subject: Update and Questions
Dear Beverly,
I hope you are well.
I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress
Dr. Salad and I are making toward the resolution of our matter and to
ask you for more details about the box and its contents.
In Dr. Salad's initial proposal he wanted to ship the box directly to
me here in the U.S. This was an absurd suggestion as the box and its
contents would never make it through U.S. Customs. Therefore I have
decided to go to Abidjan personally to retrieve the goods.
After much discussion, we have settled on a tentative date for this to
take place. I am to arrive in Abidjan on Saturday, March 5th. I
realize that this may be a bit longer than you wanted to wait; it
certainly is for me. However, due to conflicting schedules, this is
the closest date that Dr. Salad and I could agree on. I hope that this
is okay with you.
I would like some information about the box and its contents. First,
I'd really like to know the approximate size and weight of the box. I
have asked Salad this question but all he will tell me is that the box
is square.
As well, I will need to know the type of lock that is securing the
box. This is to give me some assurance that the lock hasn't been
broken by anyone at the Overseas Credit Commission Security Company
and replaced with another lock, particularly since, as far as I know,
I won't be able to open the container to verify its contents. A
photograph of the box would be very helpful if you have one.
Concerning the contents of the box, I have several questions. Am I
correct in assuming that all of the cash is in U.S. currency? If so,
could you tell give me some idea as to the denominations of the
currency? Is there anything else of value inside the box?
As well, could you furnish me with your address in the Philippines? It
would be nice if I had your address.
I would appreciate it if you could address as many of my questions as
possible and I shall anxiously await your reply.
Warmest regards,

African art work so you need to know this to aviod mistakes.I do not
know the actual size of the box and the weght but will contact the
company and get the complete information which i will forward to you

I know even if you want the box to be shipped to you that Dr.Jean will
definitely get all the documents to ensure that the box is successfully
delivered to you as he told me,but all the same since you can travel to
Abidjan i beleive it is the best way to get this concluded in person.
Presently am into hiding but i can send my address but am not there for

I wish to make you aware that I will have to split the money up quite

I have just completed booking my flight.
I am to arrive in Abidjan on Royal Air Maroc flight number 533 from

Note that this is quite late in the day. It would probably be more
convenient for you and me both if I met with you the following day

Therefore, I will proceed directly to my hotel room after I clear

I hope this will be fine with you.

Dear Sir,
Mrs. Murray's address is of no particular importance at this time. I
will get it from you when I meet with you.
Please note that I have taken a number of precautionary measures to
help ensure my safety on this trip. As an attractive woman alone in a
strange country carrying a considerable sum of cash, it would be
absolutely negligent of me not to take these precautions. As a
security expert, you will understand this.
One of these measures is to have a photograph of the person I will be
meeting with initially. I will not allow anyone to pick me up that I
don't recognize. It's that simple. While your 'identification number'
scheme is welcome, my safety is paramount on this trip and I will not
compromise on this issue.
As I have previously explained to you, I will be going straight to my
hotel upon my arrival in Abidjan. Do not bother to send anyone to pick
me up. This will be a very long flight and I will want to rest. I will
contact you via email from my hotel room on Sunday.
I have to tidy up some loose ends here at work and then I will be
proceeding straight to the airport as my flight leaves later this
afternoon. This is the last email you will receive from me prior to my
arrival in Abidjan. I fully expect to receive the photograph(s) I have
requested by Sunday morning.
I am looking forward to meeting you, Dr. Salah.

Dear Dr. Salad,
I am getting very frustrated and nervous by the lack of seriousness
you are giving this matter. Are you having difficulty reading my
emails?
I, and several other passengers were delayed by customs for quite some
time last night. Then to add to my frustration, the internet access in
my hotel room didn't work and I had to get another room this morning.
I checked my email this morning and did not find the photograph from
you that I had requested. I have already explained to you that I will
not meet with anyone that I do not recognize. I have also explained to
you why not.
The fact that your people went to the airport last night to meet me is

I would like to meet with you tonight in the lobby of the Hotel

Dear Beverly,
I'm sorry to trouble you with this but I feel that I must.
I firmly believe that we may have a problem with Dr. Salad. I have not
been able to contact him since my arrival in Abidjan. Unfortunately, I
fear the worst.
I believe that Dr. Salad may be a fraud. I have attempted to find the
Overseas Credit Commission Security Company to no avail. There is no
listing in the Abidjan telephone directory for this firm and no one in
my hotel has been able to ascertain the existence of this firm either.
Also, he refuses to respond to my repeated requests for his photograph
so that we can set up a meeting. I have requested a meeting with him
in the lobby of another hotel but unfortunately he has not responded.
I am sorry about this mess. However, I have done my part to see this
matter to a successful conclusion. As well, I have devoted much time
and money to this matter. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about
the inaction of Dr. Salad.
I'm afraid, unless I see some results from Dr. Salad within the next
few hours, I will consider this matter 'dead' and I shall catch my
return flight to the U.S. tomorrow morning.
Of course, if my suspicions are correct, and Dr. Salad and his company
are indeed fraudulent, then I'm afraid that you may have lost the box
and all of the money that was within as well.
Again, I'm sorry to have to inform you of this.

Dear Beverly,
You don't seem to understand. I am back in Illinois. I did not meet
with Dr. Salad.
The number one reason for this is that he is an idiot.
I had asked him five times to supply me with his photograph and I made
it clear that I would not meet with him without it. He did not supply
me with that photograph.
I had also told him that I did not want to meet with anyone upon my
arrival in Abidjan and yet he sent someone to the airport to pick me
up, against my wishes. It was only on account of some customs issues
at the airport that his driver missed me.
As well, I checked the telephone directory in Abidjan and there was no
listing for the Overseas Credit Commission Security Company.
All of these things made me very concerned.
Also, I had asked you for the code to the box but you did not give this
to me.
I must be honest. Considering that I spent over $2500 in airline
tickets not to mention my valuable time, and you'll understand why I
feel pretty damned unappreciated.
Frankly, I don't think that Dr. Salad has the mental competence to
look after your box.
I shall await your response.
