My name is Mr.Jojo Fifi, Branch manager of a financial institution here in Ghana. I am a Ghanaian married with two kids. I am writing to solicit your assistance in the transfer of $7,597.864.00 Million United States dollars only. This fund is the excess of what my branch in which am the manager made as profit during the 2005 financial year. Ihavealready submitted annual report for that year to my head office here in Accra as I have watched with keen interest as they will never know of this excess. I have since, placed this amount of $ 7,597.864.00 Million United States dollars only to an Escrow Coded account without a beneficiary (anonymous) to avoid trace. As an officer of the bank, I cannot be directly connected to this money thus I am impelled to request for your assistance to receivethis money intoyourbankaccount on my behalf. It's important to note that any real people or legitimate organizations mentioned in these scam e-mails have absolutely no connection with this scam!

The scammers never use their real names.
They frequently take on the identity of real people to help them convince you that they are genuine.

This is just a small sampling of the many hundreds of advance fee fraud e-mails received each day here at 419 BAITER headquarters. It is 100% pure B.S. Purity Guaranteed!

There are many different types of 419 scam (examples) but they all promise you something (fortune, job with salary / commision, low-interest loan, lottery prize, cheap gold dust / diamonds, work visa, etc.) in return for a small 'fee' or some kind of remittance. Of course, there is no fortune, no job, no loan, no prize to be had. It's just a ploy to get you to willingly send them money.

NOTE TO SPAMMERS: My scam e-mail filtering system is pretty good but it isn't perfect. Occasionally a regular spam e-mail may get mistakenly published here as a 419 scam. This is inadvertent. If you are a spammer and you don't wish to have your spam crap mistakenly published on this website as an advance fee scam, the solution is simple. Don't send me your spam crap.
