Presently this money is still with the Bank and the management just Wrote me as the beneficiary to come forward to receive the money or rather Issue a letter of authority to somebody to receive it on my behalf. I am presently in a hospital where I have been undergoing treatment Cancer of the lungs. I have since lost my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few months to live so I think the best thing to do is to use the money for charity purposes. I want a person who is trustworthy that I will make the beneficiary of my late Husbands's Fund deposited with the bank so that the person can get the money and utilize 90% of this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows around the world.

As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact details of the Bank. I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the new beneficiary of this fund.

It's important to note that any real people or legitimate organizations mentioned in these scam e-mails have absolutely no connection with this scam!

The scammers never use their real names.
They frequently take on the identity of real people to help them convince you that they are genuine.
Whatever these scammers tell you, DON'T believe a word of it!!!

This is just a small sampling of the many hundreds of advance fee fraud e-mails received each day here at 419 BAITER headquarters.

There are many different types of 419 scam (examples) but they all promise you something (fortune, job with salary/commision, low-interest loan, lottery prize, cheap gold dust/diamonds, work visa, etc.) in return for a small 'fee' or some kind of remittance. Of course, there is no fortune, no job, no loan, no prize to be had. It's just a ploy to get you to willingly send them money.

NOTE TO SPAMMERS: My scam e-mail filtering system is pretty good but it isn't perfect. Occasionally a regular spam e-mail may get mistakenly published as a 419 scam. This is inadvertent. If you are a spammer and you don't wish to have your spam e-mail published on this website, the solution is simple. Don't send me spam.
