The e-mail here is just one type of the thousands of scam e-mail variants sent out each day by 419 scammers. If you've received an e-mail even remotely similar to the one on this page or if you have arrived at this page via an internet search, I can 100% guarantee you...YOU HAVE RECEIVED A SCAM E-MAIL!

I sincerely pray my mail should meet you in a good condition of health. I am
Mr. William Scott, CEO of Dream Merchant Limited, a firm established in the UK.
With braches in most African countries including Nigeria where we have our
African
 Regional Head Office. I know much is said about Nigeria and scam
activities but I am based here and making a fortune here.

We are marketers of African Arts and Craft, we also deal on antiquities and
African fabrics. We export to America, Canada and the European countries.

We are seeking potential partners who will act as our agents/representatives in
your country, whose duty will solely be to receive our payments and return same
to us as shall be directed, and for every successful transaction carried out
you make 5% of the value.

To qualify for this job, You will be required to do the following:

1.    Forward your due application letter to our office
2.    Forward your detailed home/office address, Telephone and fax numbers
3.    A valued I.D e.g Drivers License or International Passport
4.    Open an account with the following, www.amtrustdirect.com
       amtrustdirect account or www.ingdirect.com

The new account MUST be linked to your existing checking or savings account,
soon as such accounts are ready, you will forward to us the login details of
the account for verification and confirmation. Then we shall commence our
deposits to the account.

Your duty is to confirm funds going into the account and to transfer same to us
minus five percent which is your commission.

This job does not stop you from your present job nor have anything against the
government of your country.

Let me know if you are comfortable with this or introduce someone you can trust
to be sincere enough to handle this program.

It's important to note that any real people or legitimate organizations mentioned in this e-mail have absolutely no connection with this scam!

None of the scammers use their real names.
They frequently take on the identity of real people to help them convince you that they are genuine.
Whatever these scammers tell you, DON'T believe a word of it!!!

This is just a small sampling of the many hundreds of advance fee fraud e-mails received each day here at 419 BAITER headquarters.

There are many different types of 419 scam (examples) but they all promise you something (fortune, job with salary/commision, low-interest loan, lottery prize, cheap gold dust/diamonds, work visa, etc.) in return for a small 'fee' or some kind of remittance. Of course, there is no fortune, no job, no loan, no prize to be had. It's just a ploy to get you to willingly send them money.
