Dear ,

I am Mr Peter Guei the only child of late Chief Drogba Guei ,  former Director of Ivorien foods plc Abidjan  Coted i voire. As the only child of my father, before his death he informed me of the sum of US$8,000,000.00 (Eight million united states dollars only) which he deposited in a bank here in Coted Ivoire with my name as next of kin.

I want to travel out of Coted Ivoire and relocate, due to the insecurity posed by rebel activities here, with this money tranferred into your nominated account  for investment in your country as my nominated beneficiary and guardian.

Please you shall also innitiate good investment, which I will invest the money  prudently as soon as I join you over. I promise to give you 10% of the total sum as your reward for assisting me.

Do not hesitate to contact me  immediately you receive this message for detailed information . Also forward your direct telephone number  for easier communication including your id for proper identification.

Yours Truely,
Peter Guei

This is just a small sampling of the hundreds of scam e-mails received each day here at 419baiter.com headquarters.

There are many different types of 419 scam (examples) but they all promise you something (fortune, job with salary/commision, low-interest loan, lottery prize, cheap gold dust/diamonds, work visa, etc.) in return for a small 'fee' or some kind of remittance. Of course, there is no fortune, no job, no loan, no prize to be had. It's just a ploy to get you to willingly send them money.
